Rohit Sharma’s team clinched a comfortable seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka in Dharamshala on Saturday. Rohit Sharma’s Team India have now the second most successful winning streak in men’s T20 internationals.

The Men in Blue extended their record to 11 wins with a thumping seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka.

How India’s Winning Run Started?

India ended their World Cup campaign with three successive wins. After that India has clinched 3 back to back series victories.

First the whitewash series wins over New Zealand and West Indies and now India has established 2-0 lead over Sri Lanka.

Who holds the record for MOST CONSECUTIVE T20 WINS? Afghanistan and Romania jointly hold the record of most wins in a row.

Between February 5 and September 15, Afghanistan won 12 consecutive matches including a 5-0 victory over Ireland.

For Romania, the record came against European countries. Incidentally, Afghanistan had also posted a record of 11 consecutive wins, which India matched with their win at Dharamshala.

Three of those wins have come under the leadership of former captain Virat Kohli. Kohli resigned after India were knocked out of the T20 World Cup, and Rohit took over, leading the team to eight successive wins after assuming full-time captaincy.

After taking the mantle from Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma has been successful in taking the team past strong sides like New Zealand and West Indies. With a 3-0 win over West Indies, India managed to reclaim the World No 1 spot dethroning England. With win against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma now has won 10 consecutive T20I matches as the captain.
