Mario is one of the most popular games of all time and now it has become a prominent icon in the gaming community as well as in pop culture. Fans love to play Mario on the go and it is the reason why Mario is very most frequently played on Nintendo Switch. Who doesn’t love to have fun on the go and nothing does it better than the Switch console. After a long wait, Mario Kart 9 is finally coming to the Switch console. According to many reports, Mario Kart 9 will be a completely new game made from scratch and is coming soon.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released in 2017 and it is currently the highest selling game of all time on Nintendo Switch. This marks the presence of a huge fan base that are ready to play Mario Kart 9 on their Switch consoles. Recently, GamesIndustry.biz interviewed the CEO of Kantan Games, Dr. Serkan Toto. Kantan Games is a Tokyo-based game industry consultancy and is very closely linked with Mario on Nintendo Switch. Dr. Toto said, “I am aware Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still selling very well on the Nintendo switch, but Mario Kart 9 is in active development and comes with a new twist and Nintendo could tease it this year. On mobile, Nintendo has been very silent since Mario Kart Tour’s launch in 2019, but I think 2022 is when we will see an established IP arriving on smart devices again.”
This denotes than Mario Kart 9 is not only on its way, but also it will bring a lot of new features and dynamics in the new instance. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe introduced the likes of anti-gravity, which was liked by many players, it would be interesting to see what Mario Kart 9 brings to the plate. Nothing is officially revealed or scheduled as of now, but fans can expect Mario Kart 9 to drop on mid of 2022.
