Sunil Shetty confirms plans for KL and Athiya wedding
Sunil Shetty was recently caught up in a chat where he all but confirmed the plans for wedding and stated in Hindi, that translated, “Marriage will happen as soon as kids get free.”
“I think jaise hi bachhe decide karenge (it will happen as soon as the kids decide). Rahul ke schedules hai. Abhi Asia Cup hai, World Cup hai, South African tour hai, Australia tour hai. Jab bachho ko break milega tab shaadi hogi.
He further added, “Ek din me shaadi nahi ho sakti na? (Rahul has busy schedules, Asia Cup, World Cup, South African tour, Australia tour. The wedding will happen only when the kids get a break. It can’t happen in a day, no)?”
The couple has been one of the celebrated personalities for a while. The star cricketer has captained India on multiple occasions in the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. They are often seen spending time together whenever they get time.
- After diagnosing a Sports hernia, Rahul was forced to go under the knife and traveled to Munich in June.
- Both were seen together in Germany as well as on their way to the airport as they boarded the flights.
- The couple were also spotted when they returned back to India from Germany.
While much will depend upon the availability of the Indian stand-in captain as he will have busy schedule in the coming days. With the T20 World Cup on the horizon as well, Rahul will hardly have any time in the coming days.
“Abhi papa chahte hain ki ladki hai toh shaadi ho jaaye, lekin ek baar Rahul ko break mil jaye, bachhe decide karein kab, kyunki… Aap calendar dekhoge toh darr jaoge. Ek din ka do din ka gap hai, aur do din mein shaad nahi ho sakti na.
“Toh yahi hai, jab waqt milega toh planning jarur hogi (Now papa wants that she is a girl and should get married, but Rahul needs to get a break, the kids will decide when that can happen, because you will be scared if you see Rahul’s calender, there’s only 1-2 day break, a wedding cannot happen in such short time. The wedding will be planned when there’s time).”

Athiya partners Rahul in Germany
The couple has been heavily engaged to one another’s activity and are often seen together. The trip to Germany in June was a last addition as they both were seen together while Rahul had the surgery. They both were spotted on the airport before they flew out to Munich were Rahul had his surgery.
Recently Rahul posted an Instagram post during the Zimbabwe tour as girlfriend Athiya Shetty showed her love. Athiya, who is dating the Indian star opening batter posted a heart emoji while Rahul was sweating in hot sun as he prepared for the first ODI then.
