- The foreign players like Shane Watson, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Kamran Akmal, Darren Lehmann and Sohail Tanvir will not be able to attend the get-together for different reasons.
- Graeme Smith, who was a prolific scorer for the team as an opener, will be there. He is in India for IPL Commentary

Class of 2008 invited for the IPL 2022 final –
Ahead of the final, Graeme Smith who was part of the 2008 RR squad that won the title spoke on the occasion and said, “I have been invited and I will be going there tomorrow.”
“We are a family and we believe in the principle of ‘once a Royal always a Royal,” said Romi Bhander, the head of Rajasthan Royals’ Jaipur-based high performance centre.
“We want all our family members to be part of our celebrations and success.”
Who were part of the IPL 2008 title winning squad for RR?
- Among the title winners were Munaf Patel, Yusuf Pathan, Swapnil Asnodkar, Dinesh Salunkhe, Siddharth Trivedi and Ravindra Jadeja, who later went on to star and made an name for themselves on various fronts.
- Foreign players like Graeme Smith, Shane Watson, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Kamran Akmal, Darren Lehmann and Sohail Tanvir were also part of the team.
- Sohail Tanvir still holds a special distinction in the RR camp and IPL history after becoming the first and player to win the Purple Cap while being the only player from Pakistan to make a significant impact of any sorts in the IPL.
- However, majority of the star foreign names won’t be available.
- Graeme Smith will attend the ceremony as he is part of the commentary team of the IPL 2022.

Shane Warne will be biggest miss-
- As the skipper of the side in 2008, Shane Warne guided an underdog side of RR to the unlikely title win.
- He was brave and smart enough to use the talents at his disposal as RR emerged victorious.
- Shane, unfortunately won’t be part of the contingent as he tragically lost his life in March.
- A special tribute is expected to be paid to Shane ahead of the match as he remains a colossal figure in the World of Cricket.
