This one was probably one moment that no one saw coming. CSK & MI finishing at rock bottom of the points table. MI, the five-time champions are assured of a wooden spoon as they have lost a humongous 10 games. They hit an all-time low as they lost 8 consecutive matches. On the hand, CSK has lost nine games and will finish second last in the ongoing IPL.

IPL 2022 Shocker 2 – CSK Captaincy Drama

Ravindra Jadeja first given captaincy of CSK and then taken back. This was most surprising and baffling at the same time. CSK are known to be meticulous with their planning and strategy. It was a well-thought move that Jadeja will be at the helm at the start of IPL 2022. Suddenly things changed after 7 games and MS Dhoni was reinstated as the CSK captain.

Jadeja lost four consecutive games and worst, the southpaw was also out of IPL 2022 due to injury.

IPL 2022 Shocker 3 – Rishabh Pant no-ball controversy

DC skipper Rishabh Pant was infuriated with on-field umpires when a waist-high full toss was not called a no-ball. He straightway signaled the batters to come back to the pavilion for this injustice. This incident occurred during DC’s run-chase against RR.

Rovman Powell was breathing fire and struck three sixes. Obed McCoy RR bowler bowled a beamer in the fourth ball, which umpires felt legal. Pant and DC coach Parvin Amre were fined by IPL authorities for their misconduct.

Yes, you read that right, former RCB skipper Kohli got out for three golden ducks in the IPL 2022. Overall he was out for first-ball ducks only three times in 14 years of IPL. This time though he was dismissed three times in the same season against SRH two times and one against LSG. This fans did not see it coming.

 

IPL 2022 Shocker 6 – Ravichandran Ashwin retiring out against LSG

RR all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin retired out in the match against LSG. He became the first cricketer in IPL history to do so. Ashwin walked off the field in the 19th over and the umpires deemed it retired out. This rule is legal according to ICC laws, but the RR all-rounder implemented it in IPL which divided the cricketing world.

CSK batter Ambati Rayudu announced IPL retirement last week and later deleted the Tweet. It shocked the cricketing fraternity. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan had to clear things that the veteran batter tweeted that in jest and he won’t retire after the ongoing IPL.

Mr. Consistent Kane Williamson has endured a horrible run of form for SRH in the ongoing IPL. He has scored just 216 runs in 13 games at a lowish strike rate of 93.51. It is the lowest for the batter in the 14 years of IPL. New Zealand skippers’ low returns was the one thing which no was expected.

KKR captain Shreyas Iyer created a storm when he said that CEO Venky Mysore is also involved in selecting the playing XI. This statement created a lot of controversy and fans assumed a possible rift in the KKR dugout. “Coach and at times, CEO is also obviously involved in team selections.
