The IPL 2022 Mega Auction will take place on 12th and 13th February and the LSG are determined to build a strong squad to compete in the history of the tournament for the very first time. Like Ahmedabad, Lucknow Super Giants were also given the opportunity to pick players from the draft as they cannot retain any player being debutants this season.

LSG decided to go for star Indian player KL Rahul as their captain along with Australian pacer Marcus Stoinis and rising talented spinner Ravi Bishnoi. KL Rahul was bought for a price cap of 17 Cr while Stoinis was obtained for 9.2 Cr and Ravi Bishnoi for 4 Cr. LSG currently has 59.8 Cr remaining in their purse to carry out their auction proceedings.

1. Star Opener
With KL Rahul leading the team from the front, LSG needs an equally brilliant opener to partner Rahul for IPL 2022. One of the most prominent names that will go under the hammer in the IPL 2022 Auction is that of David Warner. The Australian was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad and is sought by most teams, including LSG, where he would be a perfect fit in the right-left combo of opening partnership.

2. Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer is one of the most talented players to find himself in the auction after being released by the Delhi Capitals. Iyer can easily slot himself in the middle order or command the top order as per the requirement of the team. Therefore, choosing Shreyas Iyer for LSG with be an absolute no-brainer.
3. Strong All-rounders
With the opening pair and the top order set with specialized batters, LSH will have to pay extreme attention to the all-rounders who can turn the tide of the game by both their batting and bowling. Foreign all-rounders, particularly those that fit perfectly in the middle-order and dazzle when the time comes, will be a dream come true for Lucknow.

4. Indian Pacer
Marcus Stoinis will handle the pacing lineup for Lucknow Super Giants, however, the 32-year-old Australian would require the services of a fresh young Indian pacer to compliment him throughout the tournament. One such favorable candidate is Avesh Khan. The 25-year-old Indian pacer has drawn attention from almost all teams and can become a deadly pace-duo with Stoinis in Lucknow.
5. Indian Spinner
Lucknow has already bought star spinner Ravi Bishnoi who would be leading the spin attack for LSG. However, LSG will also look for an experienced foreign spinner to complement the young Indian and thus bolster their bowling attack.
