After getting over gastroenteritis, Beth Mooney put on a batting clinic to lead Australia to a decisive nine-wicket victory against India in the first T20I of the five-game series. As the Australians chased down 173 with 11 balls remaining, Mooney hit an unbeaten 89 off 57, while new skipper Alyssa Healy added 37 off 23. Meg Lanning’s replacement at first drop, Tahlia McGrath, also made an impression with a 40* off 29 in the convincing triumph.
