LEC re-signs KIA Motors for the fourth time as their Main Automotive Partner for 2022: In 2022, the League of Legends European Championship tournament has acquired some large sponsorship deals for its 2022 season. A week earlier, they had signed a deal with LG UltraGear that allowed LG to become the Official Monitor Partner for 2022 and 2023. Now, LEC has re-signed KIA Motors as their Main Automotive Partner for this year. Since its LEC’s rebranding in 2018, KIA has continued to support the esports scene and this will mark the fourth consecutive year that it does so again.

LEC and KIA Motors sign a sponsorship deal for 2022

KIA Motors is looking forward to being a part of the growing global esports scene. They are committed to providing viewers and fans the best esports experience. and Hyojung Jung, Vice President and Head of Global Marketing Communications at KIA Motors, told: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with the LEC, one of the world’s premier esports leagues. As the LEC’s longest-running main partner, we look forward to deepening our engagement with global esports fans in 2022, while introducing innovative experiences based on Kia’s brand belief that movement inspires ideas.”

Apart from LEC, KIA Motors has also invested in other regions of the League of Legends esports scene. They have already signed a multi-year naming rights deal with DAMWON Gaming who were the winners of Worlds 2020. This is why the team has been called DAMWON KIA since 2021.

KIA Motors will be the third main partner of LEC in 2022

With this deal, KIA will remain as the main sponsor for the ‘Player of the Game’ segment. It will be applicable for the entire League of Legends European Championship Season of 2022, which means for both the Spring and Summer Splits. They will also be collaborating with Riot Games to offer viewers and fans ‘unique experiences’ during 2022 broadcasts.

KIA Motors becomes the third main sponsor of LEC this year. KIA will now become one of the three main partners of the League of Legends European Championship alongside the banking company Erste Group and Nestle’s Kit Kat.

Eva Suàrez, who is the Head of Partnerships and Business Development, Esports Europe and MENA at Riot Games has said,” Kia’s uncompromising focus on innovation and its relentless commitment in creating engaging, compelling content for the LEC audience were instrumental to the LEC’s success, and we cannot wait to see what our collaboration will bring to the 2022 season.”
