The upcoming season of the Women’s Premier League is supposed to happen across four cities. According to Sportstar WPL season 3 will happen four cities across India including Mumbai, Lucknow, Bengaluru, and Vadodara. The tournament will happen in early February.
Why These Four Cities?
According to BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla, the decision to hold the tournament in these four cities was based on their passion for cricket. Initially, only Lucknow and Vadodara were chosen, but after seeing the amazing fan support in Mumbai and Bengaluru, the BCCI decided to add them to the list.

Mumbai – The hub of women’s cricket
Mumbai has always been a hub for women’s cricket in India. The city’s stadiums, like Brabourne, Wankhede, and DY Patil, are always packed when women’s cricket teams play. That’s why the BCCI decided to start the tournament in Mumbai. The first match will be played at the iconic Brabourne Stadium. Also the first season of the WPL happened in Brbourne and DY Patil Stadium which attracted a crowd. While, Bengaluru and Delhi hosted it the year before.
Vadodara – The new kid on the block
Vadodara’s Kotambi Stadium is the new kid on the block. The stadium recently hosted its first international match between India and the West Indies, and it’s currently hosting the Vijay Hazare Trophy knockout games. The final match of the Women’s Premier League will be played at this venue in March.
