The first notable one belonged to West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd, who in his team’s opening encounter, bagged a hat-trick against Scotland. The stockily built player returned with figures of 5/20 to hand his team a win by 35 runs eventually.

His hat-trick, meanwhile came in the 17th over, where he bagged the wickets of Matthew Cross, Michael Leask, and Oliver Davidson. This happens to be his second hat-trick in T20Is, and 10th in T20 World Cups. In fact, he is the first from his nation to achieved this feat.
As far as the match is concerned, West Indies went on to score 182/5 in their stipulated 20 overs. Shimron Hetmyer scored 64 from 36 deliveries. Post that, Scotland were bundled out for only 147. Jason Holder returned with three wickets as well. Richie Berrington went on to top-score (42) for his side.
