Last month, Rohit Sharma had featured in a 3-match ODI series against South Africa and played two Vijay Hazare Trophy matches.

Rohit Sharma has commenced his preparations for the India vs New Zealand ODI series. The former India captain had kept himself in rhythm by featuring for Mumbai in the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT). Rohit started off with a 155-run knock against Sikkim but registered a duck against Uttarakhand.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had instructed him to feature in two matches. After completing the obligation, Rohit kicked his feet up. He was celebrating his daughter Samaira’s seventh birthday in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Hardik Pandya was also spotted with him.

After a short break, Rohit has started preparing for the Kiwi challenge. He’ll report to Vadodara on January 7, the day Team India’s training camp for the series will commence. The BCCI has already named the squad, with Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Mohammed Siraj returning to the side.

Rohit has returned to Mumbai and hit the nets to get into the ODI groove. As usual, Rohit was training at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), particularly the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) Ground.
