Ranji Trophy 2025: Paras Dogra’s sensational catch leaves Ajinkya Rahane surprised
Paras Dogra is 40 years old but showed great reflexes to complete a sensational catch.

Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane couldn’t believe his luck on January 24 after witnessing Jammu and Kashmir’s skipper, Paras Dogra, pull off a spectacular catch at mid-off. Rahane, in prime form at 16 off 35, smashed the ball against Umar Nazir Mir in the Ranji Trophy match being played between Mumbai and Jammu & Kashmir.

However, the 40-year-old Dogra made a stunning leap and changed direction mid-air to snatch a one-handed blinder, leaving Mumbai reeling at 91/6. This was the second time in the match that Rahane fell to Umar, having scored only 12 off 17 in the first innings.

Mumbai had started the day on the back foot, bowled out for a paltry 120 in their own backyard. Despite this, the opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma gave them some hope with a 54-run partnership after J&K took an 86-run lead against the defending champions.

However, the pressure mounted as Mumbai crumbled to 57/3. Shreyas Iyer and Rahane briefly revived hopes, but a flurry of wickets brought their score down to 91/6, leaving them leading by just five runs. As of now, Mumbai leads J&K by 25 runs, with a daunting challenge ahead.
