Despite facing so much of backlash after Muhammad Rizwan’s social media post on the Israel-Palestine conflict, the Pakistan cricket team openly supported Palestine through their social media handle. The likes of Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz shared a photo of the Palestinian flag on their ‘X’ handle.

Several other Pakistani players showed solidarity with Palestine

Apart from the above mentioned players, Iftikhar Ahmad, Usama Mir, Muhammad Nawaz, Abid Ali, Kamran Akmal, Azhar Ali, Noman Ali, Amer Yamin, Wasim Junior, Sohail Tanveer, Muhammad Abbas, Faheem Ashraf, Sahibzada Farhan and others stood in solidarity with Palestine and the people of Gaza.

The Israel-Palestine war has been in the news for quite sometime as tension grows between two powerful sides. In one of the recent developments, an Israeli air strike hit Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza, where thousands of innocent civilians were seeking medical treatment and shelter from Israel’s continuous bombing.

According to Gaza health ministry, there are at least 500 casualties in the hospital blast. Apart from that a school, which was a shelter for refugees was also hit with air strikes. “This was one of the deadliest air strikes by Israel in the history of the conflict. A direct attack on a hospital is an act of genocide,” said a Palestinian Civil Defence spokesperson.

Earlier, Muhammad Rizwan had posted a message on X where he dedicated his century in record-breaking chase against Sri Lanka to ‘brothers and sisters in Gaza’. Rizwan had to bear the brunt of the fans for sharing his support to Palestine. To note, Pakistan plays Australia in a crucial World Cup match in Bengaluru on October 20.
