Former world champion boxer Mike Tyson has warned current WBC champion Tyson Fury to get ready for a will-to-will fight against Cameroonian Francis Ngannou before the former undisputed UFC heavyweight champion makes his professional boxing debut later this month in Saudi Arabia.

After resigning from boxing in 2020 to fight Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match, Tyson has since shifted his focus to coaching. He will be a part of former UFC champion Francis Ngannou’s team for Ngannou’s boxing debut against Morecambe native Tyson Fury at the end of this month in Riyadh.

Tyson Fury Warned By Francis Ngannou’s Coach Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson has cautioned his namesake that a difficult matchup against the Batié striker awaits him in the Middle East, despite criticism from Fury’s father, John Fury, for coaching Ngannou considering that his son, Tyson, is named after the great knockout artist.

“Hey, good luck brother,” Mike Tyson told Tyson Fury during a recent interview with ESNews. “Train hard because you’re going to have a tough evening that night.”

Fury has signed a fight contract to face fellow heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed title fight, which is scheduled to happen on December 23 in Saudi Arabia, just 8 weeks after his 10-round fight with Ngannou. Fury is already trying to schedule his next appearance after his fight with Ngannou in Riyadh later this month.

In response to hearing about Fury’s impending return, Ngannou predicted that the Morecambe puncher wouldn’t be physically ready to compete so soon after their encounter, and vowed to declare him medically unfit for a speedy turnaround.
