Both Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are former world champions and had been unbeaten for several years before losing against Andy Ruiz Jr. and Tyson Fury respectively.

While Tyson Fury remains the only boxer to beat Deontay Wilder, ‘AJ’ suffered his second and third professional losses against Oleksandr Usyk, which also cost him his heavyweight belts.

A few years back, a potential AJ vs Wilder fight would have been for the undisputed status, as both men shared the four heavyweight titles for a brief period. Now that they are no longer champions, we can see them give it all against each other to earn a title shot.

In a recent social media clip, Anthony Joshua was spotted being enquired by a fan about the Wilder fight happening in December. AJ confirmed it but didn’t reveal much information about it.

Deontay Wilder is currently with PBC and FOX, while Anthony Joshua is working with Matchroom and DAZN. It will be interesting to see how the PPV structure of the fight turns out when claimed official.
