BMPS 2026 Grand Finals came to an end. Following a hard-fought three days of the competition, GodLike Esports managed to be crowned the BMPS 2026 champions as they earned the trophy, took home the largest portion of the prize money, and received direct access to EWC 2026. GodLike Esports also secured its spot in the world championship through this tournament.
Nevertheless, the biggest storyline of the BMPS 2026 Grand Finals was that of Team Soul and their unexpected fall at the most important point of the season.
S8UL Owner Thug is Not Happy With Team Soul’s Performance in BMPS 2026 Grand Finals
Before the event, Team Soul was well-positioned on the Krafton India Esports (KIE) ranking based on their championship performance in the BGIS 2026 event. All that Team Soul had to do to get the second qualification spot for EWC 2026 was finish in the top 10.
Orangutan, however, had a hard time qualifying for the tournament. It had to perform extremely well to even stand a chance of catching up with Team Soul on the KIE rankings.

Team Soul struggled with their performance throughout the course of the tournament and could not manage to finish in the top 10. Orangutan, however, was more consistent with their play and ended up scoring sixth overall.
This disheartening outcome led to several reactions from the members of the BGMI community, who were clearly frustrated with Team Soul’s performance.
One of the loudest voices raised was that of S8UL co-owner Animesh “Thug” Agarwal, who immediately posted on his Instagram live stream right after the event.
Biggest choke in 8 years of my esports career!”
Despite his criticism of Team Soul’s performance, Thug also showed respect toward the teams that earned their place at the Esports World Cup. In the same broadcast, he congratulated Orangutan on their achievement, stating that the team fully deserved the qualification spot.
