- Sindhu, who won the Syed Modi International Championships, is in search of her second BWF crown in 2022.
- The Indian badminton queen had reached the finals of the Swiss Open in 2021 but lost to Carolina Marin in the finals. Thus, she will be looking to finally win the trophy.
- The 26-year-old leads Kjaersfeldt 2-0 in head-to-head clashes. The duo had last locked horns in the 2015 Sudirman Cup where Sindhu won in straight sets.
- Earlier, Sindhu had defeated Kajersfeldt in the 2015 World Championships in 3 sets thriller. As a result, the Danish will be keen to avenge her multiple losses against Sindhu after an almost 5 years gap.
