BWF Rankings: In the run-up to the Asian Games, India’s Men’s Doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost their World No.2 ranking. They slipped down one place to the third spot in the recently updated BWF Rankings on Tuesday, 12th September. HS Prannoy too dropped one place in Men’s Singles rankings.

Men’s Singles
India’s No.1 ranked HS Prannoy slipped down to the seventh place in the latest BWF Rankings. He went down one place after Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie jumped three places to go up to World No.6.
Christie improved in the rankings following his semifinal run at the recently concluded China Open. Prannoy meanwhile bowed out from the first round in the tournament.
Lakshya Sen also dropped down one place. He is now ranked World No.13. Kidambi Srikanth meanwhile as gone out of Top 20 in the rankings. The former World No.1 is now at the 21st spot.
Meanwhile Kiran George, who recently won the Indonesia Masters Super 100 event has entered into the Top 40. He has jumped up 11 places and is now ranked World No.39.

Men’s Doubles
In the Men’s Doubles, Satwik and Chirag slipped down to the become the new World No.3. China’s Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang overtook the Indians and reached the World No.2 spot.
The Satwik-Chirag duo jumped up to their career-best ranking of World No.2 last month after winning the Korea Open. However they lost their spot following their first round defeat from the China Open last week.
MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila have mainatined their place in the 34th position. Krishnaprasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Panjala dropped down one place and they are currently ranked 38th.
Women’s Singles
PV Sindhu who is struggling with her form this year has maintained her spot at the 14th spot in the latest BWF Rankings. Sindhu, who is low in confidence after seven first round exits this year hopes to revice her career with the Asian Games coming up soon.
Aakarshi Kashyap is the next highest-ranked Indian in Women’s Singles. She is at the 38th spot in the rankings. Meanwhile Saina Nehwal has dropped down to 55th place as she moved down four places.
Women’s Doubles
In the Women’s Doubles, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand also slipped down one place. They suffered first round defeat at the China Open last week. Treesa and Gayatri are now at the 18th spot.
Ashwini Bhat and Shika Gautam, ranked 48th are the next best Indian Women’s Doubles pair. Meanwhile Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa made it into the Top 50 in the rankings. They jumped up eight places.
In the Mixed Doubles, India’s Rohan Kapoor and Sikki Reddy are the highest ranked Indian pair. They are at the 31st spot at the moment. Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto have dropped down to the 52nd spot, while Summet Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa are in the 67th place.
