The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 has finally entered its knockout stage and in the Qualifier, which is scheduled to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Table-toppers, Peshawar Zalmi will take on second-placed Islamabad United. The Babar Azam-led side have been outstanding this season, having won 8 of the 10 matches.

While they were on a winning streak, their only defeat came in just their previous game against Lahore Qalandars. On the other hand, Islamabad United happens to be the most successful side in PSL history, but they struggled to make their way in second place with 6 wins and 3 defeats from 10 matches.

Moreover, the upcoming Qualifier clash will be first this season between these two sides after their league stage fixture was abandoned due to rain and resulted in both teams sharing a point each. While their head-to-head record stands well-balanced, it will be exciting to see who comes out on top to seal the final berth tonight.

Pitch Report

The National Stadium’s pitch is expected to offer a balanced contest between bat and ball. While the batters will aim to preserve wickets early and build a partnership, bowlers could also find some rhythm. So far, the venue has offered mixed matches and it is likely to remain the same.

Although both teams have fought their way into the PSL 2026 playoffs, Peshawar Zalmi walk in with a slight edge, considering their recent performances. While the head-to-head record stands even-stevens with both teams winning 13 games each out of 27 matches, the form the Zalmi batters are in, is simply exceptional.
