How much is enough? England's highest successful run chases in Asia and India

With India's lead already over 330, will it be enough for Rohit Sharma and Co. to register a win in Vizag?

Team India have put themselves in a commanding position after pushing the lead over 330 on Day 3 of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Visakhapatnam.

While Rohit Sharma and Co will not take the risk of putting their foot off the gas, considering England’s historical challenges in successful chases in the Asian subcontinent, the substantial lead already makes India to level the series 1-1.

Here are the successful run chases for England in Tests in Asia & India:

209/5 at Lahore in October 1961
209/1 at Mirpur in March 2010
208/4 at Delhi in Dec 1972

Currently, Shubman Gill and Axar Patel are in the middle and stitching a solid partnership to extend India’s lead. Gill, who was struggling to score runs, scored his first fifty in 13 innings and is charging towards a century.

Earlier, James Anderson picked two quick wickets in the morning to push India back. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma departed on 13, while Jaiswal, who scored a double century in first innings, was dismissed on 17.
