Team India to meet PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday, after Women's World Cup win

Team India defeated South Africa in the final of the Women's World Cup 2025 by a massive 52 runs.

Such is the magnitude of Team India’s Women’s World Cup win, that the entire nation wants to celebrate with them. And now, as per a report in Sportstar, Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. is due to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday. The report further suggests that the PMO sent a formal invitation to the BCCI on Monday.

Indian Players to Meet the PM on Wednesday

Meanwhile, the team is in Mumbai still and is set to leave for Delhi on Tuesday evening, and post the meeting with the PM, will leave for their respective homes. To add to that, no victory ceremony/ parade has been planned for the victorious team, and a call will taken after the ICC meeting in Dubai, in a few day’s time.

Set to Leave from Mumbai on Tuesday

For the time being, a cash prize of INR 51 Cr has been announced by the board. which will be shared by the players, support staff, and the selectors. As per reports, while there is no clarity on, how the money will be distributed, but the players are likely to get a sum of INR 2.5-3 Cr including the head coach, with the support staff getting 25-30 lakh each.

As far as the match is concerned, in Navi Mumbai, on the night of the final, the Indian women were truly exceptional as they won the encounter by 52 runs. After being put in to bat, Shafali Verma guided the team to 298 in 50 overs. Then with the ball, Shafali and Deepti Sharma took bulk of the wickets to keep the South Africans at bay.
