‘It’s just logical’, Zinedine Zidane gives BIG STATEMENT on prospect of becoming France manager

Zinedine Zidane gives a hint to become France manager in future but he insisted that it's not the time to replace Deschamps.

Former Real Madrid boss and France legend, Zinedine Zidane still backs himself to become the manager of France’s national team. The French legend feels he should be manager after playing for Les Bleus for a long time.

Zidane had a glorious career for France as he won the 1998 World Cup for Les Bleus. He is seen as an ideal successor to French national team manager Didier Deschamps.

There were some rumours that the French legend might be given an opportunity as the manager of his national team after the World Cup 2022. However, Deschamps’ contract was renewed until June 2026.

Zinedine Zidane keen to become France manager, finds it 'logical' to take charge as coach, refuses offer from PSG

The 50-year-old is still optimistic to take charge as the manager of France. He feels he needs to wait for the opportunity and he insisted by saying “now is not the time”.

While talking to GQ magazine, the former Real Madrid manager said: “I’ve often said that when you know the France team as a player and you become a coach, it’s just logical to think about it. But now is not the time. When I was in Cannes, I wanted to go to Bordeaux. Then I wanted to play at Juve and then Madrid because it was a different and stronger experience each time. We just call it ambition. I have always been ambitious and I have always believed in myself. I rush.”

Zidane is one of the finest managers in European history. He showed glimpses with Real Madrid when he won three consecutive Champions League titles.

The Franch legend insisted that he picks his assignments on instinct rather than the risk factor involved in the job. He said, “I don’t prepare things in general, I do what I feel. As for my first stop in Madrid. I had done two and a half years ‘a tope’ (thoroughly) as we say in Spanish. We had won a lot of things and I really needed to breathe. And then eight months later, after an interval that had been beneficial to me on a personal level, the president called me and I plunged back in immediately. I could have said to myself: ‘I did what I did. Why put me back in there? Why take this risk of doing less well?’ But I don’t calculate all that, I do it instinctively.”
