The faction disbanded in 2014 after Seth Rollins betrayed his fellow teammates, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. However, it turned out to be the start of their individual careers in WWE chasing the gold for the next few years.

Recently, Jon Moxley aka Dean Ambrose gave an interview with Sports Illustrated‘s Justin Barrasso, where the current AEW World Champion recalled the early days of their WWE runs.

He said, “Looking back, it was like we were kids. The first few months of The Shield were fucking intense. It was a different time back then. We weren’t necessarily welcomed with open arms by everybody, but we didn’t give a fuck. We were going to push the pace and have good fucking matches. Before long, everybody wanted to start working with us.”

Further, Moxley also talked about The Shield’s Work Ethic, which all the members still carry in their career and pursued great heights in their wrestling career.

“We created that ‘Shield work ethic,’” Moxley said. “The people we were around have that, too. Claudio [Castagnoli] is an old riding partner of The Shield. Hell, Bryan [Danielson] was our opponent in our first match. I still have that. We all do. It makes us who we are.”

The Shield has been one of the biggest factions in the wrestling industry which kicked off their individual career in WWE. All 3 members have achieved big milestones in WWE. Currently, Roman Reigns is the Undisputed Universal Champion, Seth Rollins is the US Champion and Jon Moxley is the AEW World Champion in WWE’s rival promotion.
