“Auction will be held in Mumbai on 13th Feb. Franchises are comfortable with the date and location and it is easier for the BCCI as well to arrange for logistics in Mumbai. Official announcments will be made soon”, confirmed the top BCCI official.

Women Premier League Auction – WPL Auction on Feb 13th: The auction be held in a plush South Mumbai hotel. The five franchises are yet to be informed officially about the date and venue of the auction. Though most of them confirmed that they have been informally asked to start preparing for the day-long event and make their travel plans accordingly.
InsideSport also reached out to some of the newly drafted franchises on their preparation for the auction. The senior officials of one of the franchise informed that preparations are on for the AUCTION but they are yet to officially informed about the date.
“We only have tentative date for the AUCTION. We were told to be ready for Feb 13th or 14th. It’s a new league so more indepth preparations are required. We are doing deep dive into credentials of each and every player. It will be exciting”, said a top official from ADANI Sportsline who owns Ahmedabad franchise in WPL.
When the 1st WPL SEASON will start? The BCCI is yet to officially announce the dates of 1st season. But all indications from the BCCI Headquarters is that the inaugural season will start from 4th March. The FINAL Match of the season will be played on 24th March.
The 1st season will have 22 games to begin with.
The tournament is expected to be played across two venues in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The Wankhede Stadium has been earmarked for the IPL, while Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium are set to host WPL. Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune is being blocked as a back-up option.
Adani Group, Reliance-backed IndiaWin Sports, Capri Global, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals are the owners of the 5 franchises in the league.
