Carlos Alcaraz opens up on his relationship with ‘rival’ Novak Djokovic – Check Out

20-year old Carlos Alcaraz opens up on what he feels about Novak Djokovic as a person after losing the World No.1 battle

Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic now share the biggest rivalry in Tennis. The two players are generations apart, however this season has seen both them feature in some of the biggest matches like the Wimbledon final and the US Open final.

20-year old Carlos Alcaraz has however lost the year-end World No.1 battle to Novak Djokovic after losing the first round contest at Paris Masters on Saturday. Following the defeat, the youngster opened up on what he feels about Novak Djokovic as a person.

Alcaraz, who was the second seed at the Paris Mastes suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Roman Safiullin in the first round. The Spaniard went down 3-6, 4-6.

Speaking after the loss, Alcaraz was asked about his relationship with Djokovic. He described him as a wonderful person and said, “We have a very pleasant relationship, he is a wonderful person. These are very good moments that I have with him off the court.”

Carlos Alcaraz concedes losing the year-end World No.1 spot

The Paris Masters this year was an important tournament for Alcaraz to catch up with Djokovic in the race for the No.1 rankings. However after his first round defeat, Alcaraz has conceded that he has lost the battle.

After this defeat I have no chance. All the ones I had to finish No 1 at the end of the year are gone.” he stated. The youngster will next play in the ATP Finals that will get underway from 12th November.
