T20 WC Prize Money: The winner of the T20 World Cup will get a total prize of USD 1.6 million ( around Rs 12,88,07,200) , as the International Cricket Council had previously announced before the commencement of the tournament, while the runners-up will receive USD 0.8 million ( around Rs 6,44,03,600)
The prize money allotted to the two semi-finalists who lost their respective matches was set at USD 400,000 ( around Rs 3,22,01,800). The Indian team would receive this as reward for making it to the semi-finals. The prize money for the other 8 teams competing in the Super 12s stage was set at USD 70,000 ( around Rs 56,35,000) each.
The tournament’s 2022 edition had some unexpected results. Be it the Netherlands’ victory over South Africa, which gave Pakistan the opportunity to go to the semifinals. Pakistan has previously lost in the group stage to Zimbabwe. In the group stage of the competition, even Ireland defeated England. It was the same England team that beat the powerful Indians by 10 wickets in the semifinals.
