The rain gods had some sympathy for the fans when it seemed it would be another washout without even a ball being bowled. With Ian Bell opting to bowl, fans finally had the chance to relive the memories of Sachin Tendulkar’s yesteryears in front of their eyes. The India Legends captain set the stage alight from the word go.

IND-L vs ENG-L Highlights: With Naman Ojha equally on song, India Legends rushed to 62 runs in first five overs. For Tendulkar, it’s never the end. The classy backfoot punch, lap shot, ramp, hook, pull — he included it all in his just 20-ball stay. With 3 boundaries and 3 sixes, he departed for 20-ball 40. Ojha departed just before him for 20.

But Suresh Raina disappointed the fans again, scoring just 12 off 8. However, it was Yusuf Pathan who took charge in the middle overs, hammering 27 off just 11 balls. With Stuart Binny also making clear of his intent in 11-ball 18-run knock, Inda were looking at a huge score.

Yuvraj Singh did not want to disappoint the fans. He took on England bowlers, reminding everyone of his prowess once again. The class sixes were back as Yuvraj smashed 31 off just 15 balls. His knock was laced with a boundary and three super sixes. The charge took India Legends to 170/5 in just 15 overs.

Whoever the opponent is and whatever their age is, chasing 171 in 90 balls is never easy. Even though England started well with Phil Mustard and Dimitri Mascarenhas hammering Irfan Pathan & Co, India had te last laugh. The two added 36 runs in just 3.2 overs before Rajesh Pawar gave India the breakthrough with the wicket of Mascarenhas.
Although Phil Mustard kept going, England lost too many wickets way too soon. Ian Bell never looked settled and departed off Pragyan Ojha for 12. Rikki Clarke too could not make a dent with 6. Tim Ambrose showed promise with 11-ball 16 but he too fell to Rajesh Pawar. Even though Chris Schofield (19 off 13) and Chris Tremlett (24 off 16) tried their best, the required runs was too big. In the end, England Legends could only manage 130/6.
