Puneri Paltan had to go empty-handed from their opening game against the Dabang Delhi KC, with their defence struggling to keep hold of the Naveen Express. The Paltan were the early aggressors and led early in the game. But five quick raid points from Naveen reduced the Paltan down to just one player on the mat. The Paltan kept pushing with Nitin Tomar top scoring with seven raid points, but it wasn’t enough as the Delhi pulled through and clinched a 41-30 win.
Telugu Titans meanwhile will also be looking for their first win of the season after playing out a nail-biting tie against the Tamil Thalaivas in their opener. The Titans made an incredible comeback to be able to share the spoils, with Siddharth Desai clinching yet another Super 10. It had seemed Surjeet Sigh and Sahil’s defensive work would see the Thalaivas through in the last minutes, but Siddarth Desai stepped up his game to inflict an ALL OUT on the Tamil Nadu with 2 minutes remaining and levelling the score. The Titans then produced a successful tackle on Manjeet in the last move of the match to seal an incredible comeback tie.
