Alexis Mac Allister also won the World Cup with Argentina last year and he was instrumental in La Albiceleste’s historic triumph in Qatar. The Reds are now planning to get the Argentine in the summer to boost their midfield.
According to an Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are dealing with Brighton star with a financial proposal for the summer move. It also added the Merseyside-based outfit will give it their best to get the signature of the Argentine in the upcoming weeks. The agreement is not finalised yet but it’s confirmed that Alexis Mac Allister will leave Brighton soon.

The Guardian also claimed that the Reds have pushed hard to sign the midfielder. Meanwhile, Brighton are confident of signing James Milner in the summer. The Englishman is likely to leave Anfield at the end of the season. Liverpool are losing some players ahead of season 2023/24 such as Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Arthur Melo.
Liverpool requires changes in their midfield and Klopp also feels that midfield is the weakest part of Liverpool. The Reds need major changes and they need a solid pair in this area. Jude Bellingham was their hot priority but they pulled out of the race to sign the Dortmund star. Chelsea’s Mason Mount is another option to plan but this move is still in doubt as Chelsea is offering an extension.
Mac Allister is now the ultimate option to crack during the summer window and Liverpool will easily get the former Boca Juniors player. He is also linked with some clubs like Man United who are reportedly planning moves to sign him next summer.
The 24-year-old said after the Brighton-Man United game: “I know what this club gave to me and I’m really grateful, really happy to be here. I try to transmit that to my teammates, the young players, the South American players that we’ve got. It’s a fantastic team, like a family. Every time I get to the pitch I really enjoy it.”
The Argentine’s current contract with the Seagulls will end in 2025. Alexis Mac Allister had struck a new deal with Brighton last year before the trip to Qatar.
