Bayern Munich withstand FINAL day pressure to secure 11th CONSECUTIVE Bundesliga title

Taking advantage of a soaring through pass from Danilo Pereira, Kylian Mbappe saw Messi’s move and he shot past Matz Sels to win his latest honour. The goal was his 496th in the top five European Leagues, and took him one clear of Cristiano Ronaldo as the all-time top scorer.

When he scored against championship rivals Lens last month, the Argentine managed to tie Ronaldo’s record, but it took him some time to surpass his Portuguese adversary, in part because he was serving a club suspension for flying to Saudi Arabia on a training day.

Messi’s relationship with PSG supporters has never been flawless, but it recently took a significant hit when he travelled to Saudi Arabia without the club’s approval for a trip that was required under his contract.

Messi received a ban and a fine as a result of it, which followed a shocking loss to Lorient. The Barcelona great was booed by supporters upon his return in the match against Ajaccio earlier this month, despite issuing a thorough apology and justification.

In the summer, his employment agreement at Parc des Princes is set to end. Messi has a hefty offer to join Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League, but he is most likely going to return to Barcelona this summer despite the opportunity.
