Pro Kabaddi 2023: New-look Patna Pirates eye fourth title – Check Full Squad

Three-time champions Patna Pirates are looking to make a comeback in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 after their 10th place finish last year

Patna Pirates is the most successful team in the Pro Kabaddi League. Having won three titles, the team is looking to get back to their best in the Season 10.

Having finished 10th in the previous season, the owners of the franchise have opted for a complete overhaul of the team. By appointing a new coach in Narender Redu, the new-look Patna Pirates are eyeing a comeback in the upcoming season.

Patna Pirates performance over the years

Patna Pirates is the most successful team in the Pro Kabaddi League. The team won three successive titles in the third, fourth and fifth edition of the league.

In 2021, the team also finished as runner-up. Following a 10th place finish in the last edition, the Pirates eye a comeback in the league this season.

Patna Pirates Retained Players

The team retained raider Sachin and defender Neeraj Kumar. Apart from the experienced duo, youngsters Manish, Thiyagarajan Yuvaraj, Naveen Sharma, Ranjit Naik and Anuj Kumar were also retained.

Surprisingly ahead of the auction this year, Patna Pirates released their star player Mohammadreza Shadloui. He played a stellar role for the team in the last two editions. Experience player in Rohit Gulia and Prashant Kumar Rai were also released by the franchise.

How the team fared at the auction?

Sachin has got a solid raiding partner in Manjeet. He was bought for 92 lakhs at the auction. Majeet was part of the Pirates in 2018. The team also acquired the services of raider Zheng-wei Chen of Chinese Taipei. Indian all-rounder Ankit was picked up for 31.5 lakhs

Defender Krishan who picked up 34 tackle points for Dabang Delhi last season was a steal buy at the auction for the Pirates. The three-time champions bought him for just 17.2 lakhs. The team used the FBM card to retain all-rounder Sajin C.
