Having conceded at over 12 runs an over in each of his last three games, Umran Malik had a point to prove with SRH facing a must-win situation in the game against KKR. The Kashmiri delivered all right to return to his top form, clinching a superb three-wicket haul to derail KKR innings early.
After Marco Jansen had Venkatesh Iyer dismissed early, Malik got rid of his opening partner Ajinkya Rahane and No.3 Nitish Rana in the same over to give SRH a head start. The fastest bowler of IPL 2022 then followed it up with the wicket of Kolkata skipper Shreyas Iyer, who was also cheaply dismissed in a fiery opening spell. Umran eventually ended with figures of 3/33 in his four overs, easily the pick of the Sunrisers’ attack.
