Kolkata Knight Riders unveiled their brand new 2022 kit on Friday on the auspicious occasion of Holi. The team revealed their new kit through an event where newly-appointed skipper Shreyas Iyer was seen donning the purple and gold threats. “I love the gold in the logo. It simply stands out,” says Iyer.

The likes of Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants have all chosen a shade of blue for their kits, while Rajasthan Royals also incorporate blue as a secondary shade in their kit.
The shift perhaps signals KKR’s move to a new era, with Shreyas Iyer helming the new generation. KKR let go Eoin Morgan and bought Iyer in the auction, who will lead the side for the upcoming season. KKR shelled out a whopping Rs 12.25 crore on the former Delhi Capitals skipper and will hope that the decision pays dividends as they look for a first IPL title since 2014.
