IPL 2022: Even before official signings, 3 things which Lucknow franchise has already done right, check details
The Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchise was given a deadline to finalise three signings by December 25. But, with the Ahmedabad owner – CVC’s fate still undecided the deadline will be pushed further due to which BCCI has instructed the Lucknow franchise to not do any signing or announcement.
However, the yet-to-be-named Lucknow franchise has already started making announcements and certainly seems to have aced the game.
3 things Lucknow franchise has already done right:
1) Andy Flower as coach – Appointing Andy Flower as head coach, RPSG backed Lucknow franchise made its first appointment in the coaching department. While the former Zimbabwe great is in itself a worthy signing, his association with KL Rahul – Lucknow’s confirmed skipper – makes it a perfect well-thought move.
Andy Flower was in support staff of Punjab Kings for the last two seasons and has worked with KL Rahul closely.
Former Zimbabwe captain and wicketkeeper Andy Flower will coach IPL's Lucknow franchise.

2) Gautam Gambhir as mentor – Signing Gautam Gambhir as mentor is another example of a well-planned move. The inclusion of Gambhir not only bolsters the Lucknow franchise’s coaching department but his proven track record, especially in the IPL will act as a guiding hand in further boosting up the team’s performance.
Gambhir has led Kolkata Knight Riders in their two IPL title wins in 2012 and 2014 and his presence in the back-room staff will not only enhance the team’s plans & tactics but will also act as an aid in boosting an individual’s performance.
It’s a privilege to be in the contest again. Thanks Dr.Goenka for incl me in #LucknowIPLTeam as its mentor. The fire to win still burns bright inside me, the desire to leave a winner’s legacy still kicks me. I won’t be contesting for a dressing room but for the spirit & soul of UP

3) Confirmation from KL Rahul as captain – Finalizing KL Rahul to lead the side is certainly the masterstroke from the Lucknow franchise. Though the announcement can’t be made due to BCCI’s instructions, it has been learnt that the RPSG group has closed the deal with former Punjab Kings’ skipper.
