Andy Roberts slams CWI
After facing a humiliating 0-3 series defeat, Roberts wasn’t sitting back and made his emotions public by stating, “That is the way it has been. When we were playing, if we had five Test matches against India, two would be in Trinidad.
“It was because more people would come to watch those games. Those were the non-television days and more crowds in the ground had meant more revenue.
“It is no longer that way now, the revenue comes from the television but still the board plays more India games in Trinidad or Guyana,” the former player told Cricbuzz.
He also added that there was more support for India the recently concluded ODI series against the West Indies. ALl the matches were played at the same venue – Queen’s Park Oval stadium. It is located in Trinidad and Tobago.
India on top in 3rd ODI
Shubman Gill and Yuzvendra Chahal were the stars as India thrashed West Indies by 119 runs to clean-sweep the ODI series 3-0. It was West Indies’ 9 consecutive losses in ODIs. As for the match, Shubman smashed unbeaten 98 while Shikhar Dhawan scored 58 to post 225/3 in 34 overs. But rain interrupted the match twice and on Duckworth-Lewis method came into force, revising the target to 257 in 35 overs.
Chasing a stiff target of 257 in 35 overs, West Indies needed an explosive start. Instead, they were rattled. Taking advantage of the conditions, Mohammed Siraj dismissed Kyle Mayers and Shamarah Brooks in his first over for ducks. With West Indies 0/2, Shai Hope and Brandon King launched a fightback with a 47-run stand.

T20 series venues: Interestingly, the first three match of the upcoming five-match T20 series starting Friday will take place in the WestIndies. But the remainder of the series — last two games — will be played in Florida at the US. Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida will host the two teams.
