“Rishabh has been playing well especially Test cricket for quite some time. Yes, there are quite a few moments when he increases our heart rate by playing some shots. But, we are habituated to that and we accept that we have to let him play such shots. With the way he plays, he can turn a Test match and he did it here and against South Africa earlier,” said Dravid.
Rishabh Pant with his first innings knock of 146 broke a plethora of records both for himself, the team, and at Edgbaston. He went on to register his 2000 Test runs along with other milestones. However, the key factor in his innings was his exceptional batting mixed with some eye-catching, jaw-dropping shots.

“Rishabh’s thoughts and planning about the game are also depicted in these knocks. It is not that he goes out to the crease and wildly rotates his bat. He waits for the ball, he plays according to his strengths, and when he gets his favorite bowler only then does he attacks. And that has been the advice from our end to him, that when you get favorable conditions, go and play positively,” concluded Rahul Dravid.
