IND vs ENG: Optional batting session helps Hardik Pandya get back to run-scoring ways, scores a potential match-winning 63 – For the unreserved, Junior Pandya had an extensive batting session in team India practice session at Adelaide, before the semi-final match against England. Before his superlative 63, Pandya had scores of 40, 2, 5 & 18 against Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, & Zimbabwe. The pressure was on the all-rounder to deliver, as Dinesh Karthik – India’s designated finisher was not firing. Pandya concentrated on power-hitting in the nets, and wanted to prove a point.

The stage was perfectly set for him against England, as Kohli consolidated things nicely. Pandya teed off from ball one and took India over 160, which at one stage seemed impossible to achieve. In the process, he also scored his second T20I fifty at Adelaide Oval. Due to Pandya’s blitz, India finished on 168 in the second semi-final of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
