But the BCCI are also in a matter of fix. As per the report in the Times of India, officials do not consider it wise to break their team. It makes sense as the current board with Ganguly-Shah at the helm has kept the BCCI ship steady in their turbulent phase too.
“Only the president and secretary were ineligible to continue their roles as per the previous BCCI constitution. This duo became the face of the case in the Supreme Court during the entire duration and the board back them. It has been a tough two years to run cricket and this dispensation has done well. The case was fought on the grounds of having continuity. So, there’s a discussion if the continuity should be broken,” TOI quoted a source as saying.
Things are expected to get much more clearer in the coming few weeks. The polls for ICC is scheduled in November and the deadline to file ICC chairman papers is October 10. It also means that BCCI and Ganguly has less than a month to address the situation.

The topic is expected to be broached when the Annual General Meeting will take place on September. There are many more agendas for the said meeting, but the BCCI representative to the ICC will be a big point.
Interestingly, with the change in age cap coming into being recently, will N Srinivasan throw his hat in the ring. It is no secret that the former president of the BCCI still has good friends within the BCCI. That could play an important role in Srinivasan coming into the framework as well.
Srinivasan is already a former ICC Chairman, he held the post for one year and four months. He was replaced by Shashank Manohar, who took over the reins and worked for four years. The post is currently held by Greg Barclay from New Zealand.
