PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2025 aka PMGC 2025 Gauntlet Day 2 Recap: iQOO Orangutan Falls to 10th, Eyes Final Day Comeback.

India’s iQOO Orangutan had a mixed day at PMGC 2025 Gauntlet Day 2, slipping out of the top 7 to 10th place with 65 points after 12 matches. The team’s performance was marked by ups and downs, starting with a rough first match where they lost three players early to Regnum Carya’s aggressive push and managed only a few points.

In Match 2, Orangutan performed decently by scoring 5 points despite losing an early 4v4 fight against R8 Esports. The team showed resilience in Match 3 with smart rotations and a solid 2nd place finish earning 10 points, narrowly missing out on a Chicken Dinner due to a crucial nade from ThunderTalk. However, the momentum dipped in Match 4 where Orangutan was eliminated early without scoring any points for the first time in the tournament.

The latter matches on Day 2 also posed challenges. In Match 5 on Miramar, Orangutan’s IGL was picked off during rotations, and the team eventually got wiped out by D’Xavier while trying to secure the zone. Match 6 saw another tough drop clash loss against Alpha Gaming, leaving the team in survival mode but ultimately ending the game early. This left Orangutan with a disappointing finish on Day 2 but still positioned within striking distance for a strong final day push.

Despite these hiccups, Orangutan accumulated 37 eliminations across 12 games on Day 2, reflecting their aggressive playstyle and fight potential. The team now faces immense pressure on Day 3 to climb back into the top 7 for direct qualification to the PMGC Grand Finals, where only the best seven teams from the Gauntlet will advance.

Fans will be watching closely to see if Aaru, Attanki, AKop, and WizzGod can regroup and convert their experience and firepower into consistent high-point games in the final day’s six matches at the 2025 Gauntlet stage.
