‘Why should batters have all the fun?’ Ravi Bishnoi quips after partnering Tilak Varma in IND vs ENG T20I

‘Why should batters have all the fun?’ Ravi Bishnoi quips after partnering Tilak Varma in IND vs ENG T20I

While the full focus was on Tilak Varma's heroic batting in the second T20I vs England, 'spinner' Ravi Bishnoi also caught attention with his quality shots.

‘Spinner’ Ravi Bishnoi could be a familiar vision for every Indian cricket fan, but this Indian spinner flicking the ball and smashing bowlers is certainly a new thing for everyone. India, who were in a difficult phase while chasing England’s 166 runs, still needed more than 20 runs with 8 wickets down.

On one hand, Tilak Varma was still fighting, and finally, he got big support from the spinner.

In this match, Bishnoi turned into a stylish batter, and some of his shots made Varma’s task easier and helped the team chase the target with a few balls remaining. Bishnoi made 9 runs off 5 balls, including two crucial boundaries that came at the exact right time.

That’s why he is proving himself as a reliable batter as well as the former T20I world number 1 bowler in the ICC rankings.

He has shown composure in the past, but this one tops the chart. After the game, Bishnoi quipped about his batting and spoke about the reel he posted just before the game: ‘I posted a reel recently that was, “Why only batters should have fun?” It was great to contribute with the bat tonight,’ Bishnoi said.”

Suryakumar Yadav praises Ravi Bishnoi’s batting performance

Ravi Bishnoi received praise from both the captain and the hero of the match, Tilak Varma. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav praised Bishnoi’s batting and talked about how he has been giving time to his batting in the nets. ‘He’s been batting a lot in the nets. He wants to contribute,’ Yadav said. Not to forget, Tilak Varma also shared his thoughts, saying, ‘The advice to Bishnoi was to hold the shape while playing his shots, and it worked out. You saw the couple of boundaries he hit.’ India registered their second win in this 5-match series, and now all eyes are on the third T20I. After Kolkata and Chennai, the caravan will move to Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, where India will look to seal the T20I series.
