Catch all the key details from yesterday’s IPL 2026 clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT).

If IPL 2026 needed a proper thriller, this was it. Gujarat Titans (GT) held their nerve to beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by one run in a game that swung till the final delivery. It was GT’s first win of the season, while DC suffered their first defeat after two strong outings. What was David Miller thinking? How did Prasidh Krishna won it for GT? How did Delhi went that close despite losing wickets regularly?

Chasing 211, Delhi looked in control for large parts, thanks to KL Rahul’s outstanding 92. But the game turned in phases and eventually, in one moment that will be spoken about for a while. With two needed off two balls, David Miller refused a single. One ball later, the game was over.

Gill-Buttler-Sundar set it up GT’s total of 210 had enough weight from the start. Jos Buttler came out with intent, taking on the new ball and setting the tempo with a brisk 52. Shubman Gill, returning to the side, paced his innings well and finished with 70, while Washington Sundar, promoted up the order, chipped in with a fluent 55.

The partnership between Gill and Sundar took GT past the 200 mark, although they would have felt they left a few runs out there at the death. For DC, Mukesh Kumar picked up two wickets but the bowlers struggled to contain the scoring on a good batting surface.

Rahul leads, Rashid turns it, chaos at the end

The chase had a clear backbone. Rahul was at his fluent best, scoring 92 off 52 balls and keeping Delhi ahead of the rate. Alongside him, Pathum Nissanka added a quick 41, ensuring DC stayed on track. Then Rashid Khan stepped in. Two wickets in quick succession, including Sameer Rizvi and Nitish Rana, slowed things down and brought GT back into the contest. His spell of 3 for 17 was the difference in the middle overs.

Even then, DC found a way back. Miller, who had briefly retired hurt, returned and smashed 23 runs off Mohammed Siraj in the 19th over. From 13 off the last over, it came down to 2 off 2. That is where it unraveled. Miller pulled one towards deep square leg and refused the single. The equation stayed the same. On the final ball, he missed a slower bouncer from Prasidh Krishna, and Jos Buttler completed a sharp run-out to seal the game.

What cost DC the game?

First, the middle-overs squeeze. Losing wickets to Rashid just as the chase was building forced Rahul to take more risks later. Second, the final-over decision. With a single there for the taking, DC could have leveled the game. Instead, it ended one run short.
