Tensions were high in the air on Day 1 of IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test in Melbourne as Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas had a brief heated exchange on field. The fiery young debutant rubbed shoulders with the former Indian skipper, forcing the umpire to intervene. An animated Kohli was seen sledging Konstas after shouldering him in between the overs.

The incident occured between the end of the 10th over and the start of the 11th. Sam Konstas was shouldered by Kohli while he was walking past the Indian, following which the duo exchanged some words. Soon, Usman Khawaja and the umpire were forced to intervene. Kohli’s actions could might as well earn him a penalty as this could go against the code of conduct.

Sam Konstas made history by becoming the youngest Australian cricketer to make his Test debut. He started off his career on a flying note, taking the Indian bowlers to the cleaners. What was fasicating to watch was the young batter’s ability to reverse scoop Jasprit Bumrah and play aggressive and fearless cricket against Siraj. His dream debut continued as he slammed his maiden Test fifty, unwilling to slow down.
