Last season, 2025, Prasidh Krishna bagged the Purple Cap with 25 wickets in 15 matches.

Prasidh Krishna, with just one wicket against Mumbai Indians, missed the chance to reclaim the IPL 2026 Purple Cap lead. He jumped to 2nd spot with 12 wickets from 6 matches. Kagiso Rabada jumped to 6th spot with an excellent spell of 3/33 against Mumbai on April 20. Chennai Super Kings’ Anshul Kamboj is at the top with 13 wickets from 6 matches. Prince Yadav is third with 11 scalps. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi and Rabada are tied for the 4th spot with 10 wickets each. The economy rate separates them.

The highest wicket-taker of the Indian Premier League gets the Purple Cap at the end of the season. During the campaign, the cap changes heads from match to match.
