Schedule

The 19th season of the Indian Premier League will begin on March 28. The final will be on May 31. The BCCI announced the IPL 2026 full schedule on March 26 after announcing Phase 1 on March 12. There will be 70 league matches. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru wil take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 28 in Bengaluru for the opening game. In all, there will be as many as 12 doubleheaders.

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals will play four games each in the afternoon, the highest by any team. Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans will play only two afternoon games.

IPL 2026 Groups

There is a slight change in the league format this time. Each team will play twice against the teams in the opposite group and once against teams in their own group. Last season, it was the opposite.
