South Africa vs India: Virat Kohli returns home from South Africa due to family emergency

Virat Kohli had to return home to Mumbai from India's ongoing tour of South Africa due to a family emergency but it is understood he will be joining the squad before the first Test from December 26.

Virat Kohli had to fly back home to India from South Africa due to a family emergency. As a result, Kohli was forced to miss the three-day intra-squad practice match ahead of the opening Test against South Africa which starts from December 26 in Centurion.

Virat Kohli is among the leading run-scorers in Tests among active cricketers and will be a key cog in the wheel as India eye a historic Test series win in South Africa.

While the reasons is yet unknown, a report in Cricbuzz said Virat Kohli returned to Mumbai three days ago after taking permission. The report also said Kohli will be back in time for the first Test which starts on Boxing Day.
