Manchester training session removes lid from India's playing XI plans, new additions certain

IND vs ENG: The Manchester Test begins from July 23, and India's combination is becoming clearer now.

Even though Team India hardly reveals any details about what combination they’re planning to play with in a particular match, usually their practice sessions are pretty suggestive. On Monday, just two days prior to the start of the fourth IND vs ENG Test, there were a few developments, which made it clear, as to which way is the Indian XI heading, for Manchester.

Akash Deep Limps Back to Dressing Room

For starters, the suspense from Akash Deep availability almost ended. The pacer did have a fitness test, where he struggled a bit. In fact, as reported by RevSportz, he had trouble walking up the stairs to the dressing room too. It is safe to assume, Akash is not playing the Manchester clash.

Anshul Kamboj Comes in

So, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj also get locked in.. while newbie Anshul Kamboj is tipped to get his maiden cap. The pacer, who was impressive in the IND A series vs ENG Lions, bowled in the nets to main India batters — Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

As per another tweet by the publication, the Indian team had a slip cordon that consisted of Pant, Rahul, Sai Su, Shubman, and later Yashasvi also had a good session. That just makes it amply clear, that Karun Nair has been axed from the match. Pant meanwhile, not only batted, but also kept the wickets. So, he is fully fit.

Sai Sudharsan, Shardul Thakur in

Shardul Thakur is almost certain to replace injured Nitish Kumar Reddy in the clash. The latter had injured his knee a few days prior to the 4th Test. Though what is still not clear is — if India would be tempted to play Kuldeep Yadav, or would stay with the spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar.

Participation of Dhruv Jurel in the match remains unclear too. The team would want an extra batter, on a Manchester wicket that could aid the bowlers.
