India Test squad: Nair dropped; Axar, Padikkal & Nitish return in Gill's first home series as captain

Catch the latest information and details about India's squad announcement for the Test series against the West Indies.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was supposed to release India’s Test squad for the two-game home series against the West Indies yesterday. However, due to delay, chief selector Ajit Agarkar will attend a press conference at 12:30 PM IST today, September 25. This will be Shubman Gill’s first assignment at home, with the series also part of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle. While majority of the squad should be from the England tour, expect some exceptions, quite possibly involving Devdutt Padikkal and Axar Patel.
