The start of Day 5 of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test was delayed due to rain. With all three results still possible, it promised to be a fascinating clash at Edgbaston, Birmingham. However, rain robbed the game of more than an hour, resulting in a delayed start. India lost 10 overs to the weather, meaning only 80 overs will be played today.

- 2nd session: 7:40 PM IST to 9:40 PM IST (15.10-17.10 local time)
- 3rd session: 10:00 PM IST to 11:30 PM IST (17.30-19.00 local time)
England resumed the day at 72/3 having been set a gigantic 608 to twin. Akash Deep struck twice, while Mohammed Siraj dismissed Zak Crawley to deter any plans of the hosts chasing. Shubman Gill had stroked a stunning century on Day 4, with fifties from KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja.
