The India-Bangladesh cricket conflict has escalated even further. Ruturaj Gaikwad could still make India’s ODI team. Mohammed Shami is out of the reckoning. Rishabh Pant is ahead of Ishan Kishan in 50-over cricket. And there will be a fight for the Rajasthan Royals.

BCB writes to ICC
BCB has decided not to send the Bangladesh team to India for the T20 World Cup. Due to the current political conditions between the two nations, BCCI had decided to release Mustafizur Rahman from IPL 2026. The BCB has requested the ICC to change its group stage match venues from Kolkata to outside of India.

Shami out of the reckoning
Mohammed Shami’s India career might be over. Despite stellar domestic performances, the selectors have seemingly moved on from the veteran pacer. While picking the squad for the India vs New Zealand ODI series, the selectors didn’t even discuss Shami with India ODI captain Shubman Gill.

Gaikwad’s future in Rohit-Kohli’s hands?
Ruturaj Gaikwad could still make India’s ODI squad against New Zealand. The BCCI has slotted Gaikwad as backup to Shreyas Iyer, who hasn’t received a fitness clearance yet, if he can’t play. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin believes that Gaikwad will get regular chances only when Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retire.

Bangladesh to ban IPL
The Bangladesh government is preparing to ban coverage of the IPL 2026 in the nation. After Mustafizur Rahman was unreasonably suspended from the cash-rich Indian league, the Bangladesh government decided to retaliate. No official decision has been taken yet, but it’s likely to happen.

Pant over Kishan in ODIs
Contrary to reports, BCCI was never going to drop Rishabh Pant from India’s ODI squad. It was suggested that Ishan Kishan will make a comeback in 50-over cricket after he was picked for the T20 World Cup. BCCI won’t drop him without a substantial reason, especially after he showed his commitment to domestic cricket.

RCA vs MCA for RR
The MCA has confirmed that RR and RCB have reached out to them to make Pune their home base for IPL 2026. As of now, it isn’t certain which franchise will play there. Meanwhile, RCA has written to BCCI, urging them to persist with Jaipur as one of the venues for IPL 2026.
