Kohli & Gaikwad’s centuries wasted
South Africa levelled the series at 1-1 in Raipur after defeating India by 4 wickets. Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad etched hundreds in the first innings, helping India finish at 358. However, with dew setting in, South Africa chased down the target with ease. Fielding and Prasidh Krishna’s bowling were major letdowns for India.
India’s T20I squad
BCCI has announced India’s squad for the upcoming 5-match T20I series against South Africa. Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya, both of whom have been struggling with injuries, have been included. Kuldeep Yadav, who was rested in Australia, also returns, while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh miss out.
BCCI forcing Ro-Ko to play VHT?
BCCI has clarified that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli haven’t been pressurised to play the Vijay Hazare Trophy and that the senior pros themselves have shown interest in playing domestic cricket. Kohli’s expected to play 3 matches for Delhi, but Rohit’s availability for Mumbai remains uncertain.

India’s new jersey
India’s jersey for the T20 World Cup 2026 has been unveiled. During the innings break in Raipur, Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Devajit Saikia took the stage to present India’s kit for the ICC event. Instead of orange, blue returns on the sleeves, while the front of the shirt won’t be plain blue.
Dhoni’s mantra
Current CSK batting coach Michael Hussey has shared an anecdote that highlights how MS Dhoni kept the pressure off his players. Hussey, who spent 6 seasons with CSK, shared how Dhoni would tell players to refrain from displaying anger to ensure CSK wins the ‘Fair Play’ award. It was also later that Hussey realised what Dhoni was trying to do.
ICC punishes Harshit Rana
Harshit Rana has been reprimanded by the ICC for ‘using language, actions or gestures which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter.’ During the Ranchi ODI, Harshit had given a send-off to South African batter Dewald Brevis. The fast bowler has accepted the charge from the ICC.
